At Florida’s rushed-together ICE facility, detainees have refused food for 10 days, calling conditions dehumanizing and dangerous.
Pedro Hernandez, now hospitalized, says he won’t eat “until they show us respect.” His wife fears he’ll die in custody or get dumped back in Cuba.
The center was built in eight days and holds up to 3,000 people - but detainees say it feels more like a “dog cage” than a detention center.
